Our history and heritage
The story of Minchinhampton dates back to prehistoric times, however the town saw a population boom in the the 17th century thanks to the woollen cloth industry and expansion of hand weaving.
Our Cotswold inn dates back some 300 years to 1715, and for many years was used for public meetings and assemblies before becoming a beer house.
After the pub closed in 2014, The Lucky Onion came to its rescue, restoring and re-opening The Crown in October 2019 and bringing back a hub for the local community. The 18th century building has been lovingly renovated, retaining all of the pub’s distinctive features while adding The Lucky Onion’s signature design touches.
